The Final Transcription of Maria Holdershaw I am writing this in the hopes that it will eventually reach someone, someone able to pass on the knowledge contained within these words. You may assume that these are nothing more than the unhinged scrawl of one who has lost their mind after an extended period of time in isolation, yet I urge you to broaden your judgement in order to accept the impossible events to which I shall impart to you. I lay motionless, engulfed in the inky, black abyss of darkness with no knowledge of where I was or whence I came. I had opened my eyes yet my view did not change, forcing me to question whether my sight had been lost or that the lack of light was so much so that I could not see my own limb mere inches from my face. Scavengers The heavy stomp of leather boots reverberated from the rough concrete walls of the dilapidated structures around us, combining with the crunch of gravel and sand which had once been the remnants of shattered glass, scattered before us like dismal dirt sand. The familiar sounds outside the house soothed me as I lay uncomfortable on the rigid frame of my bed. The crackling flames drifted through the air like the voice of a close friend, a lullaby of comfort and security that assured me of another safe nights sleep. The accompanying footsteps of my father reinforced this sensation as he patrolled outside. He was a sentinel, forever watchful over the barrier that separated us and what lay beyond the flames. Becoming a better author

Hey guys, I'm really trying my best to get my written work out there. If you do like my stuff it would be great if you could share my work with others, or maybe feature it on your own pages.
